Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Kosbys Cottage offers a queen bedroom, sumptuous twin bed room as well as a single sized day bed with pullout. All are uniquely styled and completed with luxurious feather duvets and quality linens. Lying in bed hearing the morning birdsong from the native forest beyond is a highlight, as is snuggled from the rain drumming on the tin roof. Head up the road to enjoy uninterrupted mountain views which are guaranteed to ignite the imagination, whether it transpires into a countryside-inspired water-colour or a poem about the majesty of the volcano, native forest, local wood pigeon and honey bees, the Central Plateau promises to create fabulous memories. |
Outside
The cottage gardens comprise neat lawns, native grasses and confers mixed with Northern Hemisphere deciduous specimens for lush greens of summer or red and golden hues in Autumn. The lawns provide a heavenly milieu for picnicking under the willow, the courtyard ideal for breakfast in the early sun of a summer day, push open the french-doors and laze on the sundeck with a stack of your favourite reads, the patio herb garden offers produce for guests use, whilst the indoor / outdoor patio area for dining is perfect in the late afternoon / evening for cocktails and dinner watching the setting sun casting a gorgeous red hue over the mountain. The cottage and area are equally as stunning when winter falls; think snowy forest walks from the front door and then hunkering down with a bottle of red wine warmed on the hearth. For a day out, history buffs can head off to explore the fantastic Waiouru Army Museum or mountain bike the famous and historic Old Coach Road. |
